On 22 January on the margins of the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe the head of the Hungarian PACE delegation, Zsolt Németh and the Permanenet Representative of Hungary to the Council of Europe gave a joint reception in honour of the PACE delegations of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The reception gave the opportunity to the members of the Hungarian PACE delegation as well as the members of the PACE delegations of the Baltic states to strengthen their friendship and cooperation within the organisation.

In her welcome speech Amb. Ágnes Kertész commemorated the 22nd of January, the National Day of Hungarian Culture. On this day in 1823, Ferenc Kölcsey - one of the most important literary characters in Hungarian history - completed his manuscript of the Hungarian National Anthem. After the speeches the reception began by singing together the Hungarian National Anthem.
